B2Green Expo and Networking event
May 7 2009 at the Somerville Holiday Inn, 30 Washington Street, Somerville, MA
GoGreen Somerville, the Somerville Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Somerville are organizing a green business fair scheduled for April 30th (a Thursday afternoon to fit in with business hours) from 4:00 to 7:00pm. The goals of the business fair are to:
1) Feature businesses in Somerville and beyond that are providing green services and that can help other businesses go green.
2) Feature businesses that are actively going green
3) Reach out to a wider circle of businesses and non-profits in the city to get them involved in going green
4) Create networking opportunities and continue to build a socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable business community.
We hope to make this a great networking and educational event. We hope to pair green service providers with users of these services who can speak to how the service has helped them go green. (For example, Jen Park of Bloc 11/Diesel Cafe will do a mini-workshop with Adam Mitchell of Save that Stuff on composting and going zero waste).
We are looking for business interested in participating in any or all of the following ways:
1) be willing to speak or participate in a mini-workshop on how your business is going green or how your business can help other businesses go green
2) with a booth if your business provides a "greening" service or product
3) as a sponsor (in the form of donated time or mon
4) to help with outreach (i.e. help us publicize the event to your networks)
If you'd like to talk to me in person in more details about this, please give call Vanessa Rule at 617-628-2571 or email vanessarule@gogreensomerville.org.
